I just started taking my kids to a new doctor.  I noticed on his 12 month visit that the doctor or nurses did not take his temperature before he was given his immunizations.  At his 15 month appointment this week, they again did not take his temperature.  I questioned the doctor and was told it is their "policy" to not take the patient's temperature on well visits.  I insisted they take it and was told they would even though it was not necessary. Is this correct or should I file a complaint?

A fever is not a contraindication to getting vaccines. A high fever in an ill child on the other hand may be a contraindication but the child is often ill appearing in this case.
